TOPIC: Who Would You Like To See Wearing Your Jewelry?

My styles of jewelry include a soft, vintage look along with a more edgy feel with large stones and bold embellishments.

I could easily see my Vintage Button series on a classic beauty like  Gwyneth Paltrow , Meryl Streep or the young and lovely Taylor Swift.  These women don’t usually wear a lot of jewelry and their styles lean to a more subdued fashion.

On the other hand I could see (and would LOVE to design for) the rather eccentric Steven Tyler wearing  my larger stone  pieces. This fellow is Heavy-Metal all the way!

My designs have a wide range of style. I wear all sorts of styles depending on my mood and this is how I design as well (mood…). I could see a lot of different people wearing my work. NO LIMITS!  NO BOUNDRIES!

TOPIC: Memories/Experiences from 2011

2011 was filled with valuable experiences for me. Here are just a few of the highlights:

Joined the EtsyMetal Team in January.  Membership in this Team  has opened all sorts of creative doors for me. I have forged new friendships with like-minded artists, learned new techniques and find the velocity of this Team so, so… inspiring.   Have a look  at our Blog for plenty of great info, tutorials and artist features!  I’m excited and very proud to be a member and look forward to the years to come!

Expanded techniques and continued education.  I have dabbled in cold connections, enamels, different metal finishes and have plans to continue to expand my business.

Attended (as a spectator) art/craft shows. This year I went to several art/craft shows and have decided to put some art shows on my calendar in 2012. I have never really had time to do them and will commit to making the time starting this coming spring/summer.

On a personal level… 2011 was filled with many challenges and experiences with good friends and family. I have developed an even greater appreciation for the time spent with people I care about. I am very thankful for the life I have!!

I want to thank my family, friends, Team mates and customers for a wonderful 2011. I appreciate you guys more than I can say.  Lets raise our glasses to 2012!

TOPIC:   Holiday Season Preview

‘Tis that season again and all is very busy in (and out of) my studio! For this holiday I am focusing on making more of  my Vintage Button jewelry, smaller-stone jewelry and my new mini glass vial pendants.  

Unfortunately, I am already booked for custom orders, so I’ll focus on necklaces, earrings and adjustable bracelets with fits that will work for nearly anyone. I can always offer a different length of chain for your pendant needs. My Interpretation:
The 70s was a very important and memorable time for me. For this challenge I put “Time In A Bottle“.

TOPIC:   Lets Talk About Food!

It is that time of year here in New Mexico where everywhere you go the wonderful scent of fresh homegrown chile roasting on the open fire is in the air! In these parts that is the smell of the beginning of the Fall season. The farmers bring in their crops, from places like Hatch, of both red and green,  mild, medium and hot chile. It  can be purchased anywhere from the farmer’s markets to the parking lot of the grocery store. Most people buy a big sack of the stuff, watch it being roasted then take it home. Once home you peel and remove the seeds, pack in zip-lock bags and put it in the freezer to use all year (of course keep some in the fridge to eat that day). It is also the time to get chile ristras.  These days they are maily used for decoration, but, many families do still use the dried red chile from the ristra in their food.

 My favorite place to get this delicacy is Wagner Farms, located half a mile down the road from where I live. They are sure to have a tasty variety of  just-picked chile (along with a variety of their homegrown veggies)!  Before I go to purchase my chile I always stop at the local tortilla factory for some warm fresh tortillas. As I sit peeling and de-seeding I wrap some of the fresh green chile in a fresh tortilla and eat, eat ,eat… (usually the only meal of my day). My family loves green chile and we put it in nearly everything we eat (seriously).  A family favorite is definately be green chile cheeseburgers!
