EtsyMetal Blog Carnival ~ July 2011
Each month EtsyMetal Team members write a blog article on a certain topic.
TOPIC: Artists’ Work That Has Influenced My Own
I have a family full of artists! They have influenced me greatly and in so many ways. They’ve taught me how important it is to have an outlet for your creativity. As we travel together there is always an artful eye looking at the finest detail. I find it amazing the ways artistic endeavors will live on past our own lives. I can’t even express how grateful I am to be in a family of artists and how much inspiration and support they puts into my life!
One of my relatives is a master at woodworking. He started a business of making custom designed doors, grills, furniture and various types of one of a kind pieces.
Another relative was a creative and oh-so-skillful quilt maker. Her corners always matched up perfectly and they hung on the wall very flat and even. She had an outstanding eye for color as well. Her quilts will pass down from generation to generation and she will live on through her art!
One of my children is a magnificent pencil and watercolor artist. It has always come naturally to her!
Just a few of the artistic talents of some of my family members: Fashion Design, Bass guitar, Electric guitar, Architecture, Teaching, Graphic Artist.

Oh, good one Rebecca, such nice choices! You have a very talented family! I forgot to even think about my family as influences!! Maybe that should be a topic sometime – family art influences!
Some fantastic talents there in your family. And your daughter’s sunflower is a perfect rendering. Ah, that explains your gorgeous front door – family art.
You could book a venue and hold a family art & craft exhibition somewhere! That would be so interesting.
